On découvre ici la renovation d'un atelier d’artiste situé dans un immeuble Art-Déco du quartier de Passy à Paris. Le projet consistait à le transformer en pied à terre, pour un couple établi en province. Il s’agissait d’évoquer cette période des années trente dont il ne subsistait rien dans l’appartement, sans pour autant la pasticher : motifs géométriques simples sur les châssis en acier noir, manteau de cheminée en staff blanc et une ou deux couleurs cernées de noir. Le confort avant tout était souhaité : la possibilité de recevoir la famille, les enfants et petits enfants pour des retrouvailles parisiennes. Le challenge était donc de pouvoir bénéficier des mêmes commodités que dans un grand appartement familial : 6 couchages, manger à 6 ou 8 dans la cuisine pièce à vivre, et l'équivalent pour les salles de douche et de bain… Le résultat est un espace baigné de lumière naturelle par la grande verrière du salon. De larges fenêtres, pourvues de larges stores de coton, préservent l’intimité et gomment les façades parisiennes de la rue. Quant à la longue banquette, c'est une invitation au repos….

We discover here the renovation of an artist's studio located in an Art-Deco building within the Parisian district of Passy. The project consisted of transforming it into a pied-à-terre for a couple living in the provinces. The matter was to evoke this period of the thirties of which nothing was remaining in the apartment, avoiding any pastiche: simple geometrical patterns on black steel frames, white staff mantel and one or two colours outlined in black. Comfort was the main objective: the possibility of receiving family, children and grandchildren for a Parisian reunion. Thus, the challenge was to be able to enjoy the same amenities as in a large family apartment: 6 beds, 6 to 8 people able to eat together in the kitchen living room, shower and bath rooms in sufficient quantity… The result is a space bathed in natural light by the large glass roof of the living room. Wide windows with wide cotton blinds preserve the privacy and soften the Parisian facades of the street. As for the long bench, it is like an invitation to have a rest...
