Il s'agit de la renovation d'un appartement classique parisien, de type haussmannien. Le Maître d’Ouvrage souhaitait préserver ce caractère, tout en y vivant confortablement. La cuisine s’est invitée dans le salon, lui-même largement agrandi. Il est ouvert sur la façade Sud, face à une lignée d'arbres. L’ancienne cuisine, au bout du couloir, est devenue un bureau calme. Elle intégre astucieusement un placard avec buanderie. Pendant les travaux de démolition, les moulures et des écoinçons existants ont été moulés. Puis ils ont été reproduits en raccord des parties conservées, pour ne pas perdre de leur beauté. Les pièces principales ont ainsi chacune leur motif et leur caractère. L’artisan staffeur a fait un très beau travail de rénovation. La volonté de l'architecte d'intérieur était de s'inscrire dans une continuité. Les gestes des artisans d'aujourd'hui prolongent ceux de leurs confrères du XIXème et XXème siècle. Dans les toilettes privatives, l’ancien écoinçon est finalement resté apparent, grâce à une échancrure du plafond : ce détail s’est pratiquement imposé de lui-même. Et le Maître d’Ouvrage l’a validé avec beaucoup de finesse. Les bâtiments, les lieux, participent ainsi au dialogue du projet, à leur manière…

This is the renovation of a classic Haussmann style Parisian apartment. The owner wanted to preserve its character, while living comfortably. The kitchen opens onto the living room. The latter is widely enlarged and opened onto the south facade, facing a line of trees. Down the hall, the former kitchen has become a quiet office astutely integrating a closet with laundry. During the demolition work, the existing mouldings and spandrels were reproduced identically in connection with the preserved sections in order not to lose their beauty. Each main room has thus its own pattern and character, thanks to the great stucco working of the artisan. The interior designer’s will was to create continuity. His handiwork simply perpetuates that of artisans of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. In the private toilet, the former spandrel remains visible thanks to a notch in the ceiling: this detail practically imposed itself and the owner validated it with great finesse. Thus, in their own way, the buildings and places participate in the dialogue of the project...
